Watch your pals! Limp tail (limber tail, cold water tail etc) is very common this time of year.
Its from overuse of the tail (whether being used as a rudder in the water or a direction indicator in the field). Its quite painful for your pal but it will resolve itself in a few days.

The best prevention of it occurring and for a quicker 'fix", Boswellia Serrata is the ticket.

Some things that are cool about Boswellia --- It's safe and effective. Gets dogs over it in about half the time if left to heal on it's own. Is virtually a 99% prevention when given appropriately. It has no contraindications or adverse effects.

There was a local dog that recently had limp tail and it did not heal as expected, it became infected and caused tissue to die. The dog had to have his tail amputated along with the area at the base of his tail. Luckily it was caught when it was or it would have been life threatening.

That's terrible. I have never heard of a case that severe.
